What it is

A bedtime ritual that takes barely three minutes. You'll write one present-tense affirmation of your wish fulfilled on a small piece of paper and slip it under your pillow before sleep. As you drift off, you let that sentence be the last thing you feel. The drowsy window before sleep is famously receptive, and this practice uses it sweetly: night after night, your wish becomes the note your mind falls asleep holding.

How to practise it

  1. An hour before bed, distill your wish into one present-tense sentence.
  2. Write it on a small piece of paper in calm, unhurried handwriting.
  3. Read it once aloud, letting the feeling of 'already done' rise.
  4. Slip the paper under your pillow.
  5. As you drift off, hold the feeling — not the words — as your last impression.

Make it land

  • Keep the same paper for several nights; changing wishes nightly scatters the signal.
  • If you wake mid-night, gently return to the feeling before sleeping again.
